If you have 1 saliva tube in your test kit:

1) Plan to collect saliva sample 30 minutes after waking up in the morning before eating or brushing your teeth.

2) Write your name and collection time on the white sticker on the tube.

2) Gather saliva in your mouth and gently release it into the tube. Be sure to do so slowly to prevent a build-up of bubbles.

Expert Tip: If you are having trouble filling the tube, we recommend drinking 1-2 glasses of water or smelling vinegar to help produce saliva.

4) Seal the saliva tube tightly and place the tube into its corresponding biohazard bag, box, and shipping envelope. If you are not mailing your sample right away, keep your sample in the fridge until you are ready to mail it.

5) When you are ready to mail your sample, drop your sample off at any USPS location or collection box.

If you have 3 saliva tubes in your test kit:

1) You will collect your saliva sample at the following times:

  • 30 minutes after you wake up

  • 30 minutes before you eat dinner

  • 30 minutes before you go to bed

Expert Tip: Many members find it easiest to start with their nighttime collection, and then collect the other two the next day.

Be sure to rinse your mouth out thoroughly with water before collecting each sample.

2) Write your name and collection time on the white sticker on the tube.

3) Gather saliva in your mouth and gently release it into the tube. Be sure to do so slowly to prevent a build-up of bubbles.

4) Seal the saliva tube tightly and place the tube into the biohazard bag. Keep the tube in the fridge until you have collected all 3 samples and are ready to mail your samples.

5) Once you are ready to mail your samples, place the biohazard bag with all 3 samples back into the Base box + shipping bag. Then drop your samples off at any USPS location or collection box.
