How does Quest testing works?

We understand that at-home testing may not be the best choice for everyone. That's why we offer all of our members the option to visit their local Quest Diagnostics location to get tested - at no extra cost.

Here are the answers to some common questions about testing at Quest.

What do I need?

All you need to test at Quest is your lab order from Base and a valid ID. The Base Medical Team will email your lab order to you directly, so don't visit Quest until you have received your lab order. It takes 1-2 business days after you fill out your medical profile.

Where to go?
You can choose any convenient Quest Diagnostics location, but keep in mind that you should avoid those that list 'drug screening only'. Walk-in visits are permitted and typically take 10 minutes, although we do advise securing an appointment for added ease. If you're interested in scheduling an appointment, you can do that here.

Do you need to bring your insurance card?
No. If your lab order indicates the need to show your insurance card, please disregard it. (No additional payment either by you or by your insurance company will be required.)

Do you need to fast?
Typically, no. However, if your order includes the Lipids/Cholesterol test, fasting for 2 hours prior to the test is required.
